Grandmother

 Childhood memories. Actually it was one of these sad events that affects us deeply. The bird broke his leg and my father fixed it up with a wooden match and hospital tape. The bird was in the kitchen and was quickly improving and beginning to take short flights. We had a bucket with water in the kitchen and one day, in the morning, we found this little creature drowned in the bucket. I always blamed my grandmother...            

Somebody forgot their towel and sunglasses on the beach. That image stayed with me until I put it to canvas.                                              

I visited Greece. The subject occupied me for a while. Here an apparition in ancient Greek ruins evokes some of the aesthetic qualities of antiquity.                         

A feeling of a bit scorched Nature

My friend poet and I carried on many dialogs. One of them had to do with the nine muses. He was so well informed I was astonished. This one , the original is a letter size page collage, was to be the Muse of epic poetry but for me there should be a Muse for Painting!   

 My son with his pet sparrow. He deeply loved this little creature. In fact he was promised a dog when he starts high school but decided that dog might not like Larry, the sparrow. We had him in the studio for seven years.      

Timeless subject. Such great emotion of joy and responsibility.
