 The arrangement of shapes, colors, textures 'dance' in this collage. Dancers are found often in art.  When looking at great artists of the past, I get inspired.

Even the con man has a cell phone. My husband wrote a poem occasionally. He had a great sense of humor. He would put an emphasis on the unexpected. He made us laugh. The collage was inspired by his  poem of the same name.  

It has been a while since we used to see an "Alien" on the subway with appropriate antennas and cats on his shoulders. He had to get back to his planet and that involved collecting a lot of cash. He was entertaining and people appreciated that.

One of my early collages. I have always enjoyed making collages. The scissors feel well in my hand.

I was cutting pieces to express a feeling of landscape. The sage appeared to my surprise.

I went to an art exhibition of my teacher, Knox Martin, who showed many paintings of flowers. I loved the show. How many times an artist can express 'flowers'? It is a great subject, always inspiring. This started with a few zinnias and these just went wild. Later I added the cups and a face in lower right corner so this can also be called a 'Tea with Zinnias' 

Inspired by life in New York City. It is some time a challenge to see the less pleasant aspects in a lively composition.
